We couldn’t have asked for a better night. The venue was beautiful and the meal was outstanding, but the real highlight was the team. Every staff member genuinely seemed happy to be there, and they made us feel welcome and completely at ease from start to finish. 11/10, and it’s instantly gone to the top of our list of places to recommend and return to.

Loved our recent dinner at Central! Good selection and comfortable seating. We loved the clay pot rice and the lobster noodles.
Although the duck was tasty, we preferred the traditional Chinese roast duck. The dry aged version makes a leaner duck which was tasty, but missing the juiciness of a traditional roast duck.

Visited on Monday night for a birthday date, and wow it was still so lively! I love the environment, the whole ambience gives off this mysterious Eastern dining vibe
The lobster noodles were lighter than I expected. I thought the gravy would be richer to go with the mild noodles, but it was more delicate than I imagined. Overall, the food was beautiful and on point, and the boss was generous and attentive, taking the time to explain the dishes. The service staff were considerate and gave me advice while I was ordering because of my dietary restrictions.
We also received a birthday complimentary dessert, that’s so sweet of them. Big shout out to the mango pudding
We had such a great time and definitely hope to come back again

The food was absolutely delicious! The service was top-notch as well. Our waiters were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel well taken care of throughout the evening. They even surprised us with a birthday drink to start, which was a lovely touch, and later, they sent over a shot to end the meal — a thoughtful gesture that made the night even more special. The drinks were fantastic too, with a great selection to choose from. The bar staff was welcoming and gave some great recommendations.
The overall atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, and we could tell the staff genuinely wanted to make our night memorable.
We'll be back again for sure!

After the dinner at the Aunty last month, we explored the Central for a comparison of restaurants managing by famous group who is serving Asia dishes in the CBD - Central.
As the same idea as the Stanley to name the restaurant with famous district in Hong Kong, we expect Central will also serves dishes that are popular in Hong Kong.
Needless to say, ordering dim Sims as the entrees would be a-must. Both of the Scallop + Prawn Dumplings and the King Crab + Prawn Spring Roll did not let us down. Presentation of the dumplings with nice soft pastry and juicy ingredient won our appreciation. Spring Rolls were crispy with plenty of seafoods.
Next to come were the main dishes. Their signature dish of Classic Roast Duck and the “Old Hong Kong” Clay Pot Rice.
The duck was full of Lychee wood smoke. Skin was crispy while the meat was tenderised. Honestly, we prefer to have this duck dish rather than the one from the Aunty.
The clay pot rice really drew back our memory of having similar dish in Hong Kong. It is authentic and tasteful, even much better than the similar dish that we tasted at the Bosco in Newstead.
Overall, it was an impressive dining experience.

A very cool subterranean restaurant, with very New York vibes.
Our server Jordan was friendly and informative, however was let down by the rest of the team.
Whilst all the dishes had authentic flavours, and everything was cooked beautifully, they all came out ( except desert) Luke warm which was disappointing.
We had rather exquisite bottle of Petite Chablis that took the bill just shy of $400.
Bottom line
Authentically made food, in a uber cool setting , let down on the night by lukewarm served food.
$380 +

Central Restaurant Brisbane is truly one of a kind. Hidden beneath the city streets, the impressive underground fit-out creates a unique and memorable dining experience. Cantonese cuisine done exceptionally well in a refined setting, Central delivers.
Service throughout the evening was warm, friendly, attentive. Glasses were never left empty, drinks were regularly offered, and the team struck the perfect balance between professionalism and genuine hospitality.
To begin, the Heart of Class cocktail, featuring vodka, makrut lime leaf, oolong, ginger, apricot. It was refreshing floral, with warmth from the ginger that tied everything together.
For entrées, we started with the Prawn Toast with smoked corn and sweet and sour sauce. This inventive take on a classic delivered great texture, with the sweetness of the prawn and corn complementing the crisp toast. We also enjoyed the Sheng Jian Bao, a pan-fried Wagyu beef bun served, rice vinegar ponzu. The bun was light, fluffy with a crisp base, the ponzu added a delicious lift of acidity. Paired with the Xige Estate Jade Dove White, a refreshing wine notes of melon, grapefruit and subtle creamy undertones.
Moving on, we shared the Cantonese Wagyu Chow Fun with flat rice noodles, bean sprouts and garlic chives. Full of flavour, it felt like something you'd find in a bustling Hong Kong eatery.
The highlight of the night was undoubtedly the Classic Roast Duck, lychee wood smoked and served with sweet and sour plum sauce. The skin was perfectly crisp, while the subtle smoke infused the meat with incredible flavour. It's the kind of dish I could happily eat every day, side of steamed Asian greens was the perfect accompaniment.
With the mains, we enjoyed the Xiao Pu Gathering MV7, a complex wine blend packed with juicy red fruit and savoury notes.
To finish, the Bergamot Chocolate dessert, five spice meringue, cacao nibs and caramel was excellent. Paired with the "Got To Be Real" cocktail, it rounded out the meal perfectly.

We have been wanting to visit Central since it opened and my wife and I finally got the chance to have a lunch date there yesterday.
Firstly the space itself is so well suited to the style of dining experience and menu’s etc - it is versatile for all types of reasons to go.
The staff were amazing - very attentive but not overbearing and really engaging and pleasant to be served by.
The food was amazing we had the duck potstickers to start and they were flavour packed
We then shared the Moreton Bay Bug “Pasta” and the Black Angus Striploin MBS3 Stir Fry and both were stunning dishes - the Beef Stir Fry was insane and a credit to the chef and the way he balanced the kampot pepper and the Manuka honey - I could eat that dish over and over (and if you know about Kampot and their pepper you know it’s good)
I could easily have one of everything off that menu and look forward to going back again

My husband Hugh and I have been to Central three times now and, as they say, things come in threes. Our first visit was a great night with amazing food, great service, and enough to make us want to come back. The second time we brought friends and had another fantastic evening. But the third visit? That was the one that really locked Central in as one of our favourite restaurants.
The entrance is a little discreet. The first time we went we actually walked past it a couple of times before realising where it was. Once you head down the stairs into the basement and through the curtains, it feels like you’ve stumbled into something a bit special. I love that the kitchen is right in the middle of the restaurant too and can watching the chefs at work adds so much to the atmosphere.
When we arrived, the host greeted us and said if we were happy to wait a couple of minutes, she could get us a better table. Of course we waited and it was worth it. But the real standout of the night was Jordan, who looked after us and absolutely made the evening. She completely got our vibe, played along with us, and made the whole night feel fun and effortless. Also, she kept the prawn crackers magically reappearing at the table deserves a medal because they are dangerously moreish.
We went with the banquet and it was outstanding. Trying to pick a favourite dish would be like trying to pick a favourite child impossible and probably unfair. Every course was a hit. And to top it off, when there was a little bit left of the final course, Jordan let us pack it up in a takeaway container to take home and even wrote a note on the bag. It was such a small thing, but it was exactly the kind of touch that turns a great dinner into a memorable one.
I also have to mention the music, because whoever was in charge of the playlist absolutely nailed it. It was funky all night long so much so that I Shazammed quite a few songs to add to my own playlist. And then there’s the disco ball lowering down o

Although they may have forgotten the birthday occasion at first, they truly made up for it with their outstanding service and hospitality. The food was absolutely superb — honestly, we could have eaten everything on the menu! Every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. The only small improvement would be the mango sago, which could be better.
The whole experience reminded me so much of Hong Kong, from the atmosphere to the quality of the food and service. A big thank you to the team for making our visit so memorable. Keep up the amazing work guys — we will definitely be back again for sure!
